Lismore News – Nov 30

What a nice article in the Nobles County Review Supplement last week about former Lismore resident Duane Pick and his Christmas decorations.  Duane started out by decorating one tree in his yard.  Year by year he added to his display and now it can be seen for miles!  Duane lives on the Northeast outskirts of Edgerton.  Take a drive and check it out!  Santa and his reindeer, a train, toy soldiers, penguins, ice skaters, and Santa on his Harley are just a few of the things you’ll see!

It was a busy weekend at Ruth Lorang’s home over the Thanksgiving holiday. The family gathered for Thanksgiving dinner; their first holiday after the loss of husband/father, Marv. The “older” Lorangs thought a family tradition should be continued, so Ruth’s sons, Tom & Kevin, with the help of their cousin, Mark Lorang, took it upon themselves to educate the next generation on the art of sausage making.  The next generation consisted of the Lorang grandchildren: Noah, Isaac, & Grace Roerig (Susan & Todd of Sioux City, IA); Kate & Keegan Lorang (Tom & Molly of Redwood Falls); Lucy, Owen, Phoebe, & Hazel Vargas (Jean & Ivan of Dell Rapids, SD); and little John Pierre (Kevin & Yig of Mpls). Lynn (Lorang) Dearey of Durango, CO captured the event in photographs. Grandpa Marv is surely smiling down from heaven!
