Congratulations to Adrian’s Football Coach, Randy Strand, who has been selected to the all Star Football Coaching Staff!  This honor will be given December 3rd at the US Bank Stadium.  Randy has taken hundreds of young men and taught them the skills of football and the many ways to play, even the winning and losing aspects. Congratulations on a long career Randy Strand.

Six members of the Adrian Class of “78” flew to San Diego, California last month for their “first ever” out of state reunion.  Those making the trip wee:  Tammi (Thier) Soehl; Ann (Cox) Hoemberg; Jane (Eickhoff) Vigil, Deb (Bullerman) Lutmer; Pat (Wolf) Howett, and Lori (Reisdorfer) Potter.  The girls got good rates for flying and had a great time sightseeing and even went Kayaking in the Pacific.

Thanks to John and Peg Faber and their “crew” for the great free meal of brats, calico beans, bars and drinks at St. Adrian after the 10:30 Mass last Sunday.  Those who cared to, could watch the Vikings on a huge screen. This writer noticed all the young people who helped serve, clean tables, and ran errands.  Little “Tooty Fruity” Jordan Kruger, daughter of Ryan and Lisa, was busy wiping tables. What a precious child.  The Vikings were terrible and even to I screamed (in my own home), it did not help.  Thanks to all the good workers in the kitchen.  Many hands make light work!

Congratulations to Globe writer, Julie Buntjer for the great article in the October 21st supplement.  The article was about Clare Fuerstenberg’s passion for stained glass pieces of art.  Clare and her husband Lloyd, live near Wilmont. Clare was also a long time quilt maker and she learned how to put colors together.  She has hundreds of pictures of her stained glass pieces.  She even is willing to teach her grandchildren the art, if they show an interest. Clare and Lloyd have 11 children, 31 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.  What a great lady who is so busy helping others. She also makes prayer shawls for those in need.

Little Mason Cox celebrated his 2nd birthday at their farm home last Friday evening.  Mason is the second son of Mitchell and Kayla.  There were three sets of grandparents at the party, Dick and Laura Kruger, Marlys and Ed Nelson, and Al and Cindy Cox and three great grandmothers, Marie Kruger, Eileen Hokeness and Kay Cox.  The guests were treated to walking tacos (or plate) a huge chocolate cake and ice cream and grandma Marie’s “famous” rhubarb cake.  Mason and his little Olson cousins had a great time.

Folks – Don’t forget the Library Fund campaign.  There is a list on the window of the Library.  Adrian area always comes together for important projects.  We did our beautiful Golf course; our great Legion Post #32 building; the restoring of “Old Betsy” fire truck and our great Ribs and Rims for the past five years.  Let’s pull together and make our Library a place of beauty.

Soup, sandwiches and desserts for the Presbyterian Church in Lismore on November 13th at the Legion Club.

Pat and Cyril (Sonny) Henning celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last weekend in Adrian. The 10:30 Mass at St. Adrian was well attended by family members and many friends.  Father Beerman officiated at the Mass and gifts were brought up by daughter Peggy and her husband.  Father Beerman gave a special blessing to Pat and Sonny and the congregation responded with applause and lots of smiles.  A catered dinner for the family was held at Adrian Legion Post #32. Countryside Inn furnished their famous “fork tender” roast beef.  The couple received many cards and best wishes from the area. Congratulations Pat and Sonny Henning.
