Adrian Public Schools will be celebrating Homecoming next week, September 26-30.
While most of the activities primarily involve students at the Middle/High School building, Elementary students and staff will join in the fun on Friday, October 30.
Homecoming week begins on Monday when students and staff in grades 6-12 participate in a “Pajama Day” dress up theme. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at the Coronation ceremony at 7:00pm that evening in the middle school gym.
The annual Powder Puff football game, a flag football contest between the Junior and Senior girls, will be played at 8:15pm on the varsity football field.
Tuesday will be “Twin Day” at the middle/high school. Students are encouraged to dress identical to one or more friends for the day. A pepfest for grades 9-12 will be held during Advising on Tuesday.
The Homecoming volleyball game versus Heron Lake – Okabena is Tuesday evening. The Royalty will be introduced between the B-squad and varsity games.
Wednesday is the annual Class Color Day. Seniors will wear black, Juniors wear white, Sophomores wear pink, Freshmen wear purple, 8th graders wear red, 7th graders wear orange, 6th graders wear gray and staff wear green.
On Thursday, students and staff are invited to dress up as their favorite characters. This could be movie or TV characters, celebrities, athletes, cartoons, etc.
Friday, September 30, is the traditional Blue and Gold Day for all students and staff in both school buildings. An all-school pepfest will be held in the high school gym at 2:00. Parents and community members are welcome to attend.
The Homecoming football game versus the Canby Lancers will kick-off at 7:00pm. The pep band will play and the Homecoming Royalty will be introduced at half-time.
Homecoming 2016 will wrap-up with the Homecoming Dance for grades 9-12 in the high school gym following the football game until midnight.
The Adrian Student Council members have been working hard to plan a memorable and fun Homecoming week. They look forward to having the community join them in celebrating our Dragon Pride!
