David Leo Neyens

Dave Neyens of Wilmont, Minnesota passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 57. He was being treated at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado after injures sustained from an accident. He was born on November 18, 1958 in Adrian, Minnesota and grew up in Ellsworth, Minnesota. Dave graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1977. He married Tammy Baddgor on October 19, 1985 in Wilmont, Minnesota.
Dave spent his life doing what he loved. Carpentry was his passion and life’s calling. He owned and operated his own business for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, taking yearly fishing trips with his boys and close friends. He enjoyed gardening, making fresh salsa, collecting rocks, and taking care of his pond and acreage. He had a fondness for old things, including antique furniture, horse-drawn farming equipment, and classic cars. He rarely found time to vacation, but he loved traveling to Mexico with his family. His Sundays were often spent sitting on the couch watching the Vikings play. Dave was a Knights of Columbus member and contributed to Pheasants Forever.
Dave is preceded in death by his father, Ray Neyens and stepfather, Paul Herman.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tammy; daughter Meagan (Mike Blotkamp) Hagerman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, son Cody (Mallory) Neyens of Morrison, Colorado, son Logan Neyens of Wilmont, Minnesota and grandson Jacob Hagerman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dave is survived by his mother, Betty Herman; sister Connie (Mike) Hinrichs; brothers: Steve (Carol) Neyens, Tom (Terri) Neyens, Jerry Neyens, and Doug Neyens; stepbrothers: Randy Herman, Sharon Fisher, Pat Herman, Tim Herman, Alan Herman, and Paul Herman Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont, Minnesota, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont, Minnesota. The interment will follow the funeral at Wilmont Cemetery.
