Funeral Services for Mark Carlson, age 66, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Adrian, MN, were held Thursday, September 1, at Constance Free Church, Crosstown Blvd., Andover, MN. Mark lost his battle of six years with CBD on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
Mark was born to Elvin and Carol Carlson on August 14, 1950 in Mayville, ND. He attended school in Mayville, and then in 1959 his family moved to Adrian, MN. Mark played football and basketball and he was a star. In 1968 Mark graduated from his school. His father passed away in 1966, his family moved back to Mayville, ND where Mark received a football scholarship. In 1972 Mark enlisted in the Army where he served for four years. He moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he married Janet Corbin and had three children, Mike, Molly, and Katie, and a stepdaughter Amy. Mark shared a business with Carmie PA Transfer for 18 years, where he retired. He was an avid fisherman and loved to play golf.
He is survived by his partner Kathy Thies; mother Carol Schjeldahl; sisters Barb Groth (Carmie); Lori Cockayne (Jeff); his children Mike (Katie) Molly; Kati; and his stepdaughter Amy; and their mother Janet; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by father Elvin and step-father Orville.
