On Friday, August 26, the Lady Dragons traveled to Hendricks to take on the Grizzlies. The Dragons came out timid to start the set, falling behind 13-18. However, they gained momentum from a serving run by Kasie Tweet. But it wasn’t enough, and the Dragons lost a hard fought battle 31-33 in the first set.
The second set of the night was owned by the Dragons with Paige Bullerman and Rylie Hokeness earning enough kills to win 25-15. Dragons won the third set 25-23,with great digging by Paige Tweet and Brittney Loonan. The Dragons lost their momentum in the fourth set as they fell to the Grizzlies 17-25.
Hendricks did not have enough players for the fifth set, so the Dragons won by forfeit. Kasie Tweet and Paige Bullerman each had 10 kills and Rylie Hokeness had 7 kills for the Dragons. Kasie Tweet also had 13 set assists. Paige Bullerman and Avery Balster each contributed 5 blocks, and Brittney Loonan and Paige Tweet each had 8 digs for the Dragon defense.
