The Arc/People First will be hosting their first annual Lollipop Jaunt to benefit people with disabilities and their families. This will be held on Saturday morning, September 17 during Worthington’s Turkey Day celebration. Many people were familiar with the popular Lollipop Rose sale, hosted by the ARC and held every spring. As rose prices increased yearly and the availability of roses at competitive prices, this became a less profitable endeavor. Thus the need to search for a new fundraiser began. Last April, ARC’s Day at the Capitol, Representative Rod Hamilton, suggested to his friend Nonna Fitch that they should do a color run. This began plans to host the first Lollipop Jaunt. The ARC’s plan is to hold this fundraiser annually, hopefully in connection with local festivals.
This is a fun jaunt with something for everyone, all ages, and all abilities. Come out and help others, get some exercise and have fun. Join Representative Hamilton and Nonna as they roll or run for the finish line. Give us a call to get your pledge card today.
