Funds raised thus far: $15,859.87

Goal:  $80,000

Last week we had another book sale in the New Vision Co-op building.  With donations and book sales, we brought in almost $900.  That brings the total money raised so far to over $15,000. That brings us to approximately 20% of our goal.

I mentioned in last week’s paper that Elizabeth Schutz had donated $1,000.  Well, she surprised us again by changing her donation to $5,000!  She recalls fondly the years she spent at the Adrian Branch Library.  When I mentioned that we’d be in the old lumber yard building during the renovation, she recalled playing hide-and-seek around the stacked wood, “I opened my knee at that lumberyard,” she said with a chuckle, “got caught on some barbed wire as I was running around.”  Elizabeth graduated from St. Adrian High School in 1958.

We have had many generous personal donations given to the Adrian Branch Library Fundraiser.  One couple donated $1,000; we have had three $500 donations from three different people; a number of families gave $50-$250.  Our online donations started at $10, and the highest donation online thus far is $50.
