Sue Mormann, Florida, and her two brothers, Lynn and Steven spent four days in the area visiting relatives and friends. They are the children of the late Alvin and Lela Mormann. The three Mormann “kids” went to St. Adrian School, starting in the early fifties. They are the siblings of the Mormann triplets, Mary, Marilyn, and Mark, who were born in the Adrian Hospital, and were baptized in St. Adrian in 1957 by Fr. Michael Glenn. They started school in St. Adrian grade school. The three siblings went to visit uncle Norbet Mormann at the Assisted Living Center and were so impressed with that lovely facility. They also went to Luverne to visit Mary and Virgil Schutz and also saw Mike Cox and David Knips. Mike and Sue Mormann were classmates. David’s parents Bob and Jean Knips kept one of the triplets when Lela was on the T.V. show “Queen for a Day” in California. Dr. Don Nealy told Alvin Mormann to take Lela on vacation as she was so tired from having nine children, with five in diapers at that time. That’s when she entered the contest at the urging of Greg and Betty Mormann, who lived in California. Alvin took out a small loan at the Adrian State Bank, for the trip, now that is what you call a full service bank. Lela got herself many beautiful gifts for their home plus a huge supply of diapers and baby furniture and appliances for their farm home. The three “kids” showed me a beautiful memorial photo of the family gathering to honor Lela’s memory in Wisconsin. It was so good to see those three Mormann “kids”. God bless the whole Mormann family.
