The 27th annual “Flying Farmer Fun Fly” is scheduled for August 5th and 6th outside of Rushmore, MN. Radio controlled model airplanes of all kinds will be putting on a show from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on August 5th and 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on August 6th.
The show is hosted by Dave Boldt on his farm located four miles south, 1 ¾ miles west of Rushmore at 21316 300th Street. Dave has been involved with remote control airplanes for about 30 years after he received a kit for Christmas. All the models Dave owns have a history or a story, many of them are replicas of historic planes because that is an interesting era to him.
Dave expects about 50 fliers throughout the two day event and each flier has multiple planes so he is looking for well over a hundred different models from helicopters and quadcopters to turbo jets and electric powered as well as gas powered planes. There is no admission fee and there will be concessions available. Just bring your lawn chair and come out to enjoy a day of fun.
